What it can and cannot claim
Can claim
- These accounts and sessions are linked by this lineage, reconstructed from these hashed artifacts.
- Our assessment of attribution, with its confidence interval and the method that produced it.
Cannot claim
- Legal conclusions: infringement, breach of contract, fraud. Those are for counsel and courts.
- Completeness. Lineage shows what was observed, not everything that happened.
Error rates
Silvector publishes no measured detection error rate for this rung yet. Any number you see elsewhere on this site is labeled with its source, and none of them are ours. An attribution method needs its own validation set with known answers before its confidence means anything.
A valid error-rate statement at this rung includes:
- The validation set for the attribution method, with known positives and negatives and its size.
- The confidence interval and the method that computed it (for example a Wilson interval).
Bias risks
- Legitimate heavy users (researchers, integrators, evaluation teams) can look like distillation by volume alone.
- Attribution to a region or country from network signals is weak and politically loaded; state it only with corroboration.

How to escalate
To reach Rung 5 · Evidentiary:
- Keep custody unbroken from collection onward and place the case on legal hold.
- Write a methods appendix that replays byte for byte, and state known error rates with denominators (rung 5).
